In June 2022 I took on the inaugural Transalp 1200, a bike ride through northern Italy, Austria and Slovenia. The 1250km event started and finished in Verona and took in the South Tirol, the Sillian and Julian Alps along the way.

Catania

I shot this at the beach close to the airport in Catania, Sicily. it was pretty desolate in the late afternoon and out of season as I killed some time before the flight home. This structure, the sub-frame of an abandoned kiosk provides a useful framing device.
